After supper, I brought up the holiday train set from the basement. E and I set it up on the larger of the two coffee tables. We were going to set it up on the smaller one, but the tracks would fall off the table. As it was, we couldn't use a few of the track pieces as the table is not long enough. But what we did set up is still a pretty decent sized track and E had a great time setting up all the little houses, all the little trees and all the little people. Especially the little people. Almost at once, she pulled them out of the box and assigned people to each of us and started playing make-believe.
The train set is a toy so I have told E that it will be up to her and her siblings to set it up every year and that she will have to show them how it's done. She was very cute in her attentiveness making sure she understood the set completely. She wanted to know about each sound the train makes. She already knew the sound the train makes going through a tunnel. Thanks Thomas!
