winter carnival

The local community centre had their annual winter carnival this evening. E has been looking forward to it all week. She picked up a flyer for it the week before last at her "mini soccer and more" activity. Every day she has been reading the flyer, anxious to do all the activities listed for the winter carnival. Well, we almost did. She skated, went on a horse drawn sleigh ride, played games and ate popcorn. She was disappointed that she missed the scavenger hunt, but it was getting late and we still had homework to do.

When we got home, I made us both some hot chocolate with marshmallows and then we settled in to do her homework. E is really coming along with her French reading. We only needed to do the book once as she correctly pronounced all the words the first time around. In fact, she pronounces some French words better than she pronounces some English ones. Go figure.

It was a good night, full of lots of fresh crisp air. We are both going to sleep well tonight.
