opposite day yesterday

E took a shower instead of a bath and slept in my bed. We wore clothes to bed Saturday night and pj's all day Sunday. Pizza for breakfast, waffles for supper, E attempted laundry and decided it was not as much fun to be mom until I told her that she gets to do what she wants and tell me what to do too. E was a bit of a bossy mom at first, but relaxed quickly. She picked out our chores but mostly decided we should play. What a fun mom she was! :)

It was a good thing we had leftover pizza as I did not relish the idea of letting E make a whole supper. There was also a bit of negotiation involved as E kept wanting to say the opposite of what we were doing which was fun at first, but quickly became very confusing. To help her understand why we should have limits to the amount of opposites, I explained that we needed to be reasonable. As to do the opposite of everything would be impossible: eating, sleeping, breathing, etc. So we picked the things we had to do and found a way to invert the way we did them that didn't compromise our routine too much.

It was fun, a little exhausting, but something we may try again on a day when we don't need to go anywhere. Going out to get groceries in pj's got a few stares. E was wearing her neon green Tinkerbell pj's so she was pretty easy to spot. ;)
