Over the weekend, we spent mealtimes with family: one night at my sister's house, Sunday night, everyone came over to our house. Both nights featured foods that seemed contrary to the time of year. For instance, my sister had chocolate snowballs on the table when we arrived Saturday night. These are a Christmastime treat in our family. It turns out, she had a bucket of mix leftover in her freezer. They were really yummy. She also served beets which tend to be a Thanksgiving/fall food for us. Sunday night, my mom made a turkey and all the fixings! I almost put Christmas crackers on the table.
E got such a big kick out of all the "opposite" things that were going on with and during our dinners. We have now scheduled an official "opposite" day to occur next Sunday. So if any of our amigos call on Sunday and you hear us answer with "goodbye", you will know why. :)
