I have a door!

And tile on the floor and everything is coming together just so nicely in my bathroom. Thank goodness! All these renos were really driving me bananas. Every time I walked in to the house, it felt like walking in to a disaster zone.

Yesterday, the basement floor started to get dug up. And what a good thing that is. The pipe that is in the basement floor is in pretty bad shape. We kind of knew that from the constant backing up that was occurring, but now it is confirmed. A 2" pipe under a cement floor for close to 60 years will decay. So L is putting in a larger pipe and hopefully it will last another 60 years.

After this pipe issue is resolved, the new basement bathroom will also be installed and my house will become that much closer to being ready for us to move in. Of course, with all the work being done, there is mess everywhere. There is even dust upstairs in our bedrooms which traveled through the vents from the basement cement digging. So a massive clean up job will need to be done, but I am really looking forward to that day when I can go in with a broom and a mop and get the very last stage over with so we can move in.
