my little fish

Last night, E started her swimming lessons. She has never had a class. I signed her up for beginner lessons.

She had a blast. E donned her goggles and jumped right in. The other 5 kids in her class hung on to the edge of the pool while my E was diving, touching the bottom and literally swimming in circles around her instructor. One of the other moms commented that my E should be in a more advanced class. However, E has never had a lesson, she doesn't know any of the swimming strokes.

Sure, she has no fear and can hold her breath under water for a very long time. A skill developed diving for toys at the bottom of pools. She can get herself from one end of the pool to the other without touching the bottom. She even knows a couple of strokes to keep her afloat that she figured out just by playing in the water. It is my hope that she will improve on the strokes she already knows and learn some new ones to make her an even better swimmer.
